Components for Drive, Power & Charging Systems

Identify the housing’s role and mating interfaces within the vehicle or charging equipment. Review mounting datums, machined surfaces, sealing and final delivery requirements together.

Motor Housings & End Covers

Define mounting datums, machined bores, end-cover interfaces and sealing faces. Include mating references, critical dimensions and the inspection condition for the assembled interfaces.

Power Control & Onboard Supply Housings

Provide enclosure geometry, mounting features, contact surfaces and assembly references. Mark protected areas and the dimensions that must be accepted after machining and finishing.

Charging Equipment Housings

Define installation interfaces, covers, sealing surfaces and final finish. Include operating conditions, handling protection and any specified tests for the housing.

Datums · Sealing · Cleanliness · Traceability

Coordinate Interfaces and Acceptance

Include critical features, test methods and required records with the drawing. Cleaning, testing, traceability and customer approval scope are confirmed for the project before order acceptance.

Plan the Component Manufacturing Route

Compare material, housing geometry, demand and design maturity before selecting the route. Coordinate tooling, machining, finishing and assembly around the required delivery condition.

CNC Machining

Review prototypes and machined components against material condition, stock form, workholding and critical interfaces. Include planned design changes and quantity requirements.

Product Range

Motor housings and end covers, power control enclosures, onboard power supply housings and charging equipment housings.

Design Review

Define mounting datums, machined interfaces, sealing surfaces and assembly requirements on the drawing. Where applicable, specify leak testing, cleanliness and traceability requirements before quotation.

Manufacturing

The proposed production route may include tooling, die casting, CNC machining, surface finishing and assembly. Process selection considers the material, geometry, quantities and required delivery condition; critical features and acceptance criteria are reviewed against the drawing.

Inspection

Agree the critical dimensions, inspection method and required records before production. Specify any additional tests, including the method, sampling frequency and acceptance criteria, in the project requirements.

Project Requirements

Send your 3D model and 2D drawing, material specification, quantities, finish requirements and delivery schedule. Include assembly references and any customer-specific inspection or documentation requirements.

Before You Send the Drawing

What should accompany a motor housing drawing?

Include mounting datums, machined interfaces, end-cover and sealing references, material specification and critical dimensions. State the required inspection and delivery condition.

How should leak testing and cleanliness be specified?

Identify the applicable surfaces and test requirements. Provide the test method, conditions, sampling frequency and acceptance criteria, together with cleaning and required record specifications.

When should traceability and customer requirements be provided?

Include material records, part or lot identification, required reports and customer-specific approvals with the RFQ so scope can be confirmed before order acceptance.
